Neighborhood Watch Announcement

From the East Beach Homeowners Association & Norfolk Police Department:

“Please be advised that there have been incidences of early morning and late evening female joggers being attacked and chased in Norfolk. One such incident occurred in East Beach at 5:00 AM. An off duty policeman was able to spot someone near that occurrence, and the individual was apprehended. Please do not jog alone. Especially in the early morning and after dark. Be aware of your surroundings at all times. As always, our community continues to be very safe.

All Neighborhood Watchers are asked to be on the alert. Call 911 to report anything suspicious that you may see.”

City of Norfolk in Good Standing with FEMA National Flood Insurance Program

From Carlton Ray Ransom, Senior Neighborhood Development Specialist:

“On Friday February 17, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) listed in the Federal Register incorrectly that the issuance of flood insurance in the City of Norfolk was prohibited as of 2/17/17.

The city notified FEMA immediately about the incorrect listing in their Federal Register.  As a result, FEMA issued an official letter dated February 18, 2017 affirming that the City of Norfolk is in Good Standing with National Flood Insurance Program. This letter also clarifies that new flood insurance policies can be issued within the City.”

However, we insist that posts are courteous and respectful.  Any post that diminishes another member will be removed and the writer warned.  Second event and you will be banned.
